Position Overview
We’re looking for a highly creative, strategic, and detail-oriented Organic Social Media Strategist Contractor to support the planning, execution, and optimization of organic social media efforts across a variety of client accounts. This role is ideal for someone who understands both the creative and strategic side of social, stays ahead of platform trends, and knows how to turn content into meaningful engagement and brand growth.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, copywriter, trend watcher, and community-minded marketer who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage organic social media strategies tailored to client goals, target audiences, and platform best practices
- Create monthly content calendars aligned with brand messaging, campaigns, seasonal moments, and platform trends
- Write engaging, platform-specific social media copy across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and other emerging platforms
- Collaborate with internal creative teams on content direction, visual storytelling, video concepts, and asset needs
- Conduct hashtag, keyword, and trend research to support reach, discoverability, and engagement
- Support Pinterest optimization efforts including keyword strategy, board organization, and pin distribution
- Monitor platform updates, social trends, and emerging content formats to proactively recommend opportunities
- Support community management by monitoring comments, messages, and engagement opportunities when needed
- Analyze content performance and provide strategic recommendations based on insights and reporting
- Assist with influencer, partnership, and user-generated content ideation as needed
- Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, tone, and overall marketing objectives
- Participate in client calls, brainstorms, and internal strategy meetings
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in organic social media marketing, preferably within an agency or multi-brand environment
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and content best practices
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills
- Experience building content calendars and managing multiple accounts simultaneously
- Strong understanding of engagement strategy and audience growth tactics
- Familiarity with short-form video strategy and content ideation
- Ability to interpret social analytics and turn insights into actionable recommendations
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Preferred Skills & Platforms
- Strong understanding of Meta platforms including Facebook and Instagram best practices, engagement strategy, and content planning
- Experience developing and optimizing LinkedIn content for brand awareness and thought leadership
- Familiarity with Pinterest SEO, keyword strategy, board organization, and content distribution
- Proficiency in Trello and Asana for task management, content workflows, and team collaboration
- Experience using Slack for internal communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with Canva to collaborate on creative direction and simple content creation/editing
- Experience with Sprout Social for scheduling, analytics, reporting, community management, and social listening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with lifestyle, luxury, home, hospitality, nonprofit, or eCommerce brands
- Understanding of SEO and keyword integration within social content
- Familiarity with creator/influencer collaboration strategies
- Basic understanding of paid social amplification strategies
- Experience working in a fast-paced agency environment with multiple clients and deadlines
