Wild Dog Grooming, an invitation-only grooming salon in Fremont, is hiring one part-time Bather to run our bath room on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. No grooming experience is required. Every hour of training is paid, we cover the cost of your courses, and a written skills ladder shows exactly how you earn each raise.
Description
Pay
$18.05 to $21.05 per hour, W-2, paid every two weeks. Candidates with no bathing experience start at $18.05. Starting pay for experienced bathers is set by the skills shown in a paid working interview. Raises follow a written skills ladder.
Schedule
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 30-minute meal break. More days may be added as you advance.
What you will do
Bathe and fully dry dogs of every size and coat type, following a written protocol for each coat. Keep the bath room spotless: tubs, kennels, laundry and floors. Tell the owner right away when a dog's skin, coat or behavior needs attention. You will also do light front-desk work that we train you on: using our scheduling software (MoeGo), answering phone calls, and following up with new client inquiries.
What you get
Paid training, including the Jess Rona bathing course and the Iv San Bernard skin program. A structured first 90 days with check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days. A real path to groomer for bathers who earn it. Paid sick leave, paid personal days, paid holidays and a 401(k), under the eligibility rules in our handbook.
The honest part
You will be wet, covered in hair, on your feet most of the day, around loud dryers, and cleaning up after dogs. Reliability is not negotiable here. If a dog is waiting, you are late.
Requirements
At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. Able to bathe and handle dogs up to 80 pounds, with help on lifts, with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable around working dogs. Comfortable on the phone and willing to learn scheduling software. No grooming experience required.
