Teaching Through Education LLC Exeutive Function Coach Remote · Part time Company website

We’re looking for an executive function coach to work with kids and teens ages 5 to 17 in north Houston. This isn’t tutoring. Most of these kids are bright, they just were never taught the skills behind following through, like focus, handling big feelings, and staying organized. You’ll run hands-on, play-based sessions one-on-one or in small groups, mostly in family homes, using our curriculum and plan with our support along the way. It’s a W-2, on-call role at $40 an hour, plus extra pay for small groups and a 5% commission on referrals. Hours vary, there are no benefits, and our busiest times are afternoons, evenings, and weekend mornings.

About Teaching Through Education LLC

About REACH Through Education

REACH Through Education is a Houston-based executive function coaching company serving K-12 students across the Greater Houston area, in person and online, in English and Spanish. Founded by educator Sharon Medina, REACH helps students build the skills behind following through, including emotional regulation, working memory, goal setting, organizing and prioritizing, and flexible thinking. Our coaching is personalized, play-based, and rooted in science and evidence-based practice, with the goal of building confidence and life skills that carry students far beyond the classroom.

We believe growth happens through connection. That’s why we carefully match each student with a coach who fits their interests and learning style, creating a safe, reliable relationship where guidance is received rather than resisted. We also partner closely with parents, building a supportive whole-family approach so progress continues at home. Our coaches are trained in the REACH curriculum and supported with ongoing coaching of their own, so they can focus on what they do best: showing up for kids.

Description

We're looking for an executive function coach to work with kids and teens ages 5 to 17 in the north Houston area (Conroe, The Woodlands, Spring, Kingwood, Montgomery County, etc.).

Our families come to us because their child struggles with anything from focus, to big feelings, to setting/accomplishing goals, to staying organized.

This is not tutoring.

Most of these kids are bright. They just were never taught the skills behind following through, and that's where you come in!

You'll coach students 1-1 or possibly in small groups, mostly in family homes or learning centers, potentially with some virtual sessions. Sessions are hands-on, play-based, and tailored to the specific situations each child is dealing with. We'll provide the curriculum, and you'll bring your unique personality, expertise, and life wisdom to share.

We do our best to match our coaches to students based on interests, learning styles, and other qualities that help them build real relationships with students, forming the trust and familiarity that allow for deeper learning to take root and bloom.

What you'll do

Run one-on-one and/or small group coaching sessions (no more than 5) using our curriculum

Follow our coaching plan for each student in sessions, with ongoing coaching from us along the way, and track their progress

Write session notes within 48 hours of each session

Keep families updated in a warm, professional way

Join team meetings and trainings as needed

What we're looking for

Experience working with children, whether as a teacher, tutor, mentor, counselor, or coach

Patient and a calm presence with kids

Comfortable explaining things to parents in simple terms

Reliable transportation to in-person sessions in north Houston

Bilingual English and Spanish is a big plus

Ability to pass a background check

You do not need a background in psychology or special education but it's a big plus. We train you in our coaching approach.

Pay and schedule

W-2 employee, on-call and as-needed, so hours vary with client demand

$40 per hour for all hours actively worked (additional pay for working with small groups)

5% commission on any new client you refer who enrolls

No benefits with this position

Busiest times are weekday afternoons, evenings and weekend mornings

How to apply: Email [email protected] with your resume, cover letter and contact information (phone/email) for 3 professional references. Please put "EF Coach Application - [your name]" in the subject line.

Salary

$40 - $40 per hour
