The Clinical Services Director provides leadership and oversight for Tandem's clinical team.

Description

Tandem's current clinical team is comprised of one Certified Nurse Midwife, one RN birth assistant, one LPN birth assistant, and one Social Worker. It is supported by the Office Manager. Eventually, we plan to have two CNMs on staff. The Clinical Services Director (CSD) is responsible for supervision and management of the clinical staff with support from Tandem's contracted Medical Director. The CSD reports to Tandem's Executive Director.  

 

Requirements:

  • Three years clinical experience in midwifery care or in leadership role in out-of-hospital birth facilities
  • Current Indiana clinical license strongly preferred
  • Experienced clinician and educator

Expectations:

  • Communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of families and staff; assess the learning needs of a particular group or person
  • Possess a broad knowledge base of the emotional, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of the childbearing family from early pregnancy through early parenting. 
  • Possess previous experiences requiring the use of teamwork, project management, research and problem-solving.
  • Coordinate knowledge and activities including but not limited to:
  • Programs that assure staff competency
  • Activities between students, clinical and administrative staff, and apprenticeship positions
  • Development and ongoing review of policies and procedures related to the clinic and birth center
  • Collaborative clinical programs, such as rural outreach, educational programs, and Path4You contraceptive work
  • Facilitate regular chart reviews
  • Conduct ongoing clinical staff evaluations and peer review
  • Contribute to long-range clinical model approach and planning with focus on community needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Indiana Birth Center Law
  • Prescriptive Authority for CNMs
  • Report out to Board of Directors on clinical status updates

Salary
