Tandem Community Birth Center and Postpartum House, Inc

Tandem’s goal is to be Bloomington, Indiana's first community birth center and postpartum house. Here at Tandem, we believe that people giving birth come from different backgrounds, different experiences and have different needs. They deserve diverse and safe choices that fit their needs. We hope to provide the community with another birth option that focuses on holistic prenatal, postpartum, and reproductive care. We chose the name Tandem because like a tandem bike, our model of care represents how much of a partnership giving birth is. It is not hierarchical. Laboring people are working with their babies, their care providers, and their support people together to give birth.
