You communicate warmly and professionally, whether drafting a gift acknowledgement or fielding a donor's question. You are energized by joining a small team in an entrepreneurial environment, ready to build systems from the ground up, all in service of our East Bay Regional Parks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Serve as the primary point of contact for donor inquiries and provide responsive, professional donor service
- Process and acknowledge gifts, coordinate pledge fulfillment, and ensure timely, personalized donor communications
- Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including recognition programs, mailings, cultivation efforts, and appreciation events
- Prepare donor correspondence and other stewardship materials
- Collaborate with East Bay Regional Park District counterparts to ensure a seamless donor experience
Database Management & Gift Processing
- Manage the donor database (CRM), ensuring accurate gift processing, data integrity, and complete donor records
- Generate reports to support fundraising operations and decision-making
- Track donor interactions and engagement, conduct regular data audits, and maintain accurate documentation
- Reconcile gift records with finance staff and support compliance with applicable policies and reporting requirements
Annual Fund & Membership Support
- Coordinate annual fund and membership activities, including direct mail, email, online giving, renewals, and donor communications.
- Monitor campaign performance and track key metrics
- Support donor acquisition, retention, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives
- Maintain online giving platforms and donation pages
Major Gifts & Campaign Support
- Conduct prospect research and prepare briefing materials for donor meetings and solicitations
- Maintain major gift prospect records, pipeline reports, and campaign tracking
- Coordinate logistics for donor visits, meetings, and cultivation activities
- Support capital campaign planning, tracking, and reporting as needed
Development Operations & Administration
- Coordinate day-to-day development operations, including calendars, files, meeting support, budgets, vendors, and department supplies
- Support Board Development Committee meetings by preparing agendas, materials, and minutes
- Assist with compliance matters to ensure the Foundation remains in good standing
- Support the Executive Director and Director of Advancement on special projects as needed
Communications & Marketing Support
- Coordinate with communications functions to develop donor-facing materials
- Assist with creation of annual reports, impact reports, and case statements
- Support development of campaign materials and collateral
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, office administration, or related field
- Experience with database management and process improvement
- Customer service or client relations experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and NXT
- Previous nonprofit development or fundraising experience
- Event coordination experience
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
License/Certification
Valid California Driver's License

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Hybrid work environment - will work remotely with regular presence in EBRPD offices (Oakland and Pleasanton) and park sites
- Standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend events
- Primarily office-based computer work with ability to sit for extended periods
- Occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds) for event setup and office needs
- Local travel within the Bay Area for meetings, events, and park site visits
