Description

Primary Function:

The Propagation Technician is an entry-level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and is established to execute propagation functions for the company. The Propagation Technician will perform daily duties for the Propagation team and will work closely with the Cultivation team as a whole to ensure production goals are met and deliver best-in-class products. These duties and responsibilities are more fully explained below in the Job Duties and Responsibilities section.

Supervises: none

Pay Grade/FLSA Status: H8/Non-exempt


Qualifications:

·        Experience in cannabis cultivation or agriculture industry preferred, especially in propagation.

·        Must be at least 21 years of age.

·        Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Execute daily propagation duties including but not limited to: planting seeds, cutting and propagating clones, and maintaining young plants.

·        Maintain plant health through daily check-ins, evaluation of plant health and happiness, spot watering of plants, canopy management, and making adjustments to room environment or grow process as needed.

·        Maintain room awareness throughout all of propagation and report weekly on key metrics including mother inventory, clone supply, and veg quality.

·        Collaborate with Plant Health team and other support teams continuously regarding plant health, pest outbreaks, and equipment issues (irrigation, tables, lights, etc.).

·        Maintain knowledge on how to identify and resolve plant health issues quickly, and communicate all abnormalities immediately when identified.

·        Ensure grow standards are followed including but not limited to grow task completion, compliance, and cleanliness.

·        Monitor room environments daily including but not limited to temperature, humidity, CO2, water content in medium, and EC and pH levels.

·        Ensure an overall positive, safe, and clean production environment.

·        Ensure daily compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to, state compliance, security protocols, and access protocols.

·        Other duties as assigned by management.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

·        Commitment to quality work with attention to detail.

·        Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually without close supervision.

·        Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, including flexible and/or extended hours as needed.

·        Knowledge of growing technologies, such as lights, irrigation, media, nutrients, and more.

·        Knowledge of different strains and their unique growing demand.

·        Ability to keep to a tight schedule.

·        Excellent verbal interpersonal communication skills to interact with team members.

·        Basic weights and measurement skills, ability to operate a scale.

·        Regular attendance and punctuality.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word and Excel.

·        Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 

 

Physical Demands:

·        Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and working conditions as dictated by an agricultural environment.

·        Ability to work 10 to 20 feet off the ground using ladders.

·        Manual dexterity to reach and handle small items, and work with fingers generally.

·        Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

·        Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.

·        Ability to work in the dark with only green lamps for several hours at a time.

Salary

$16.8 - $21 per hour
