Primary Function:

The Processing Operator I is an entry-level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and will provide support with the inventory and packaging areas at the farm and the dispensary. The Processing Operator will assist in the filling, packaging, and labeling of cannabis products, including but not limited to: finished flower, pre-rolls, cartridges, concentrates, and other infused products. The Processing Operator will comply with guidelines set forth by the CCB to ensure quality and internal goals are met as outlined by management. These specific functions are more fully explained below in the Job Duties and Responsibilities section. 

 

Reports to: Processing Supervisor

Supervises: none

Pay Grade/FLSA Status: H8/Non-exempt

 

Qualifications:

 

·        1 year of experience in manufacturing mechanics or similar required.

·        High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

·        Must be at least 21 years of age.

·        Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Transports plants from drying rooms to the trim room

·        Handle, transport, and dispose of any waste material from trim rooms

·        Record wet and dry weight for all product including flowers and trim

·        Assist in the filling, packaging, and labeling of cannabis products, including but not limited to: finished flower, pre-rolls, cartridges, concentrates, and other infused products

·        Assist with bulk packaging, transfer, and storing of cannabis products

·        Ensure products are processed in a quick and efficient manner

·        Perform proper techniques for harvesting, drying and curing cannabis

·        Collaborate with farm employees, dispensary employees, and other staff to ensure internal goals are met

·        Follow appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of batches and/or weights of batches

·        Comply with regulatory guidelines including CCB/EBCI regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, facility maintenance, and work schedules

·        Participate in the operation of and training for specialized packaging and processing equipment

·        Ensure all production/processing areas/equipment at farm and dispensary are clean and sanitized at all times according to standard operating procedures

·        Other duties as assigned by management

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

·        Must be detail oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt.

·        Must have a neat appearance with good personal hygiene.

·        Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually without close supervision.

·        Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, including flexible and/or extended hours as needed.

·        Strong work ethic.

·        Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·        Must complete training on Qualla Enterprises machine operations within 6 months of hire.

Physical Demands:

·        Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and working conditions as dictated by an agricultural environment

·        Ability to work 10 to 20 feet off the ground using ladders

·        Manual dexterity to reach and handle small items, and work with fingers generally

·        Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

·        Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
