Description

Primary Function:

The Cook I is an entry-level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and is established to aid in the production of edible cannabis products. This position will oversee the operation of candy-making and baking machinery, prepare recipes, and ensure that proper dosing, packaging, and sanitary guidelines are followed during the production of edible cannabis products.

 

Reports to: Sous Chef

 

Supervises: none

 

Pay Grade/FLSA Status: H7/Non-exempt

 

Qualifications:

·        6 months candy-making, chocolate-making, or professional kitchen experience preferred.

·        Must be 21 years of age or older.

·        Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Operate and ensure proper functioning of various kitchen machines.

·        Report any malfunctions or disruptions in production.

·        Prepare edible cannabis products for packaging and sale, including gummies, chocolates, various candies, and baked goods.

·        Ensure that daily tasks are completed efficiently and that daily quotas are met for production.

·        Adheres to kitchen maintenance and sanitation standards.

·        Controls food production in all work areas, including proper cooking methods, times, and temperatures.

·        Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

·        Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·        Knowledge of food preparation and cleanliness standards and methods, particularly with regards to candy- and chocolate-making.

·        Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.

·        Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

·        Must have the ability to work at a quick, yet efficient and thorough pace.

·        Team-oriented, adaptable, dependable with a strong work ethic.

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Physical Demands:

·        Must be able to be on feet for an 8-hour shift.

·        Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull up to 300 pounds with the aid of a cart.

·        Must possess the manual dexterity to utilize food preparation tools, particularly knives.
