Sr. Desktop Engineer Windows (Workstation Rationalization Project)


This candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting customers’ Windows IT infrastructure.


The candidate will assist in all aspects of defining an improved desktop experience, migration plans, and routine update/patching process.


This is a hands-on mid-level to senior role. The candidate is expected to be able to take project assignments and execute them independently.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Active Directory environments.
  • Support the Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) environment.
  • Supporting the infrastructure and configuration for Office 365.
  • Maintain Windows OS provisioning process and configurations via AutoPilot.
  • Collaborating with the team and other teams to modernize our Windows environment.
  • Creating PowerShell scripts to automate processes, tasks, and more.
  • Manage software deployments via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Designing modern standards for patch management and then executing the processes associated with OS and application-level updates/upgrades.
  • Provide endpoint health and performance insights using MEM monitoring, PowerBI, etc.
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Identify system trends related to endpoint issues and develop modernized solutions to improve efficiency and stability.
  • Creating and maintaining relevant knowledge base articles for our IT Service Desk, Desktop Support, and end users.
  • Working with internal teams and leadership to understand business requirements and providing solutions to meet them.
  • Communicating progress reports to managers, project managers, and other internal stakeholders.
  • This position required the ability to work in a project-based environment requiring flexibility and teamwork; performs other job duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive experience supporting Windows 10+ in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Active Directory, GPO, PowerShell, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Azure AD, Office 365, Microsoft Defender, ServiceNow, and AutoPilot.
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing best practices around OS update/upgrades, patch management, provisioning, and software deployment.
  • Experience working with and maintaining Windows endpoints in a Hybrid Azure AD joined environment.
  • Experience with co-management (MEM + MECM).
  • Advanced knowledge of modernizing Windows infrastructure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues associated with hardware and software.
  • Experience automating processes and tasks using PowerShell.
  • Ability to deliver projects on schedule and communicate regular progress reports to internal stakeholders.
  • BeyondTrust Privilege Management experience is a plus.
  • macOS experience is a plus.
