PEP invests in the private secondary market, buying shares in late-stage, pre-IPO venture companies. We are a small team that already runs on AI, and we are hiring someone to build the tools that make the whole firm faster. This is a builder's role, not an investing role. You will not be on the deal team. You will be automating manual work, wiring our systems together, and shipping internal tools and external-facing projects across marketing, investor relations, pipeline and deal flow, research, and client communication. Success means the firm executes faster, makes better-informed decisions, serves clients better, and spends less on administration.
This is a builder's role. You are not on the deal team and you will not be underwriting investments. Your job is to build the tools that let everyone else do their jobs faster and better: automating what is manual, compressing what is slow, and making the firm's collective knowledge available at the moment someone needs it. This position is aimed at early-career applicants with 1-3 years of experience.
The work spans the whole firm rather than one function. In a given month you might build a research workflow that pulls a company's full history into a briefing before a call, wire up pipeline data so board metrics compute themselves, stand up an internal tool for investor relations, automate a recurring reporting process that currently eats an hour a week, or ship something external-facing for marketing and client communication. Some projects are internal plumbing nobody outside the firm will ever see; others are the polished end-product that a prospective investor interacts with.
You will report primarily to our Head of Investment Research and contribute across marketing, investor relations, pipeline and deal flow operations, research, and external communication. Because the team is small, you will work directly with the people whose problems you are solving, which means short feedback loops, no committees, and work that ships.
The measure of success is straightforward: does the firm run better because of what you built? Faster execution, better-informed investment decisions, better service to our clients, less money and time lost to administration.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
Build internal tools and workflows. Identify where people are doing repetitive, manual, or slow work, and replace it with something automated and reliable. This is the core of the job and the source of most of its value.
Wire our systems together. Our work runs across pipeline tracking, email, calendar, document storage, meeting notes, spreadsheets, and third-party market data. Getting context to flow between these automatically is a permanent source of leverage.
Extend the research and document pipeline. Drafts of our memos, pricing reports, investment committee materials, and board updates are produced through structured AI workflows. You will improve these automated steps, add new ones, and build the validation checks that keep the output investor-grade. You will work with the deal team members to add new tools and integrations to bring in new signals and richer data points into the broader research workflow.
Ship external-facing projects. Marketing sites, investor-facing tools and materials, client communication workflows. Work that carries the firm's name needs to look and read like it.
Bring back what's new. The tooling in this space changes month to month. Part of the job is evaluating what's worth adopting, prototyping quickly, and being honest about what doesn't work.
Scope your own work. Nobody here has time to hand you a fully specified task. You should be able to take a rough objective, ask the right questions, figure out the approach, and come back with something finished.
Listen, learn and teach. As an early-career position, learning from experience and mentorship will be a key component of this role. On the flip side, bringing new ideas and concepts to the table will help the whole team step up.
