Position Overview

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will provide individual, family, and group counseling services to clients in a private practice setting. The LPC will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve emotional and mental well-being. The LPC will collaborate with the clinical team to provide high-quality care and will maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with practice standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients experiencing emotional, mental health, or behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, to determine client needs and establish treatment goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, regularly reviewing and updating plans to reflect client progress.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed care, or other relevant approaches.
  • Provide crisis intervention services when needed to ensure client safety and stabilization.
  • Maintain a caseload of clients and manage time efficiently to meet the needs of the practice and clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop coping strategies, improve functioning, and achieve therapeutic goals.

Client Engagement & Support:

  • Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients, providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for healing and growth.
  • Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and resources for additional support.
  • Empower clients to take an active role in their treatment and recovery process, fostering self-awareness and resilience.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with other clinicians and administrative staff in the practice to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Participate in case consultations, staff meetings, and peer supervision to support the growth and development of clinical skills.
  • Coordinate with external providers, such as psychiatrists or primary care physicians, to ensure continuity of care for clients.
  • Refer clients to community resources or specialized services as necessary.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all clinical interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with practice standards, legal requirements, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with state licensing requirements, continuing education, and best practices in mental health counseling.
  • Ensure all services provided adhere to ethical and legal standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in [State], in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health or counseling setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and therapeutic relationship-building skills.
