Position Overview:
The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) will provide direct clinical services, including individual, family, and group therapy, under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor. The LMSW will work with clients facing a variety of mental health, emotional, and social challenges, utilizing evidence-based interventions to help them achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or other licensed supervisor.
- Conduct initial client assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, to identify client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other appropriate modalities.
- Collaborate with clients to establish treatment goals and regularly review progress, adjusting plans as needed to meet client needs and goals.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety and stability.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with practice policies and HIPAA regulations.
Case Management & Client Support:
- Assist clients in identifying and accessing community resources, including housing, employment, financial assistance, and medical services.
- Provide advocacy and case management services, coordinating care with other professionals such as medical providers, school personnel, or external agencies.
- Develop and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients, fostering a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for healing and growth.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and coping strategies to promote long-term success.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with clinical supervisors, therapists, and administrative staff to ensure clients receive comprehensive and high-quality care.
- Participate in case consultations, clinical team meetings, and supervision sessions to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, medical professionals, and community agencies, to support a holistic approach to client care.
Compliance & Professional Development:
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards, including maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in regular supervision and continuing education to stay current on best practices in social work and mental health treatment.
- Stay informed of state licensing requirements, ensuring adherence to continuing education requirements and other professional standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in [State], in good standing.
- Eligibility to work under supervision toward clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW).
- Minimum of 1-3 years of post-graduate experience in a counseling or mental health setting preferred.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a strong commitment to providing client-centered care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage clients in a therapeutic relationship.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation processes.
