Position Overview:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) & Clinical Supervisor will provide high-quality mental health services to clients while also supervising interns and pre-licensed individuals working toward clinical licensure. In this dual role, the LCSW will offer both direct client care and clinical supervision, ensuring that both clients and developing clinicians receive the support they need. The LCSW will contribute to the overall well-being of clients while fostering the growth and development of future clinicians through supervision, mentorship, and training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients with a range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, regularly reviewing and updating plans as necessary.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and other relevant approaches.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed.
  • Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation in accordance with practice standards, legal requirements, and HIPAA regulations.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team, including other therapists, counselors, psychologists, and administrative staff, to ensure cohesive and coordinated care for clients.
  • Participate in case consultations, clinical team meetings, and peer supervision as part of the practice’s commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and medical professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to client well-being.

Clinical Program Development:

  • Assist in developing and refining clinical programs, treatment modalities, and group therapy options to enhance service offerings.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, workshops, and seminars for supervisees and the broader clinical team.
  • Stay informed of the latest trends, research, and best practices in mental health care and clinical supervision, ensuring the practice remains at the forefront of clinical excellence.

Compliance & Ethical Standards:

  • Ensure that both personal clinical practice and that of supervisees adhere to all ethical guidelines and legal standards, including HIPAA and state licensing requirements.
  • Address any ethical or legal concerns within the clinical team and take corrective action when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Alaska in good standing.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals, families, and groups, in a counseling or mental health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and best practices for clinical supervision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor developing clinicians.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and the ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Specialized certifications or training in areas such as trauma, substance use, family therapy, or other clinical specialties.
  • Experience supervising interns and pre-licensed clinicians in various therapeutic approaches and clinical settings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance both clinical and supervisory duties.
  • Knowledge of state-specific licensure requirements for clinical social workers and other mental health professionals.
