Description

Karuna Wellness Studio is looking for a Registered Dietitian who loves working with kids and families—and wants to be part of a team that loves working together.

This role offers a chance to bring nutrition care directly into a collaborative pediatric practice in Mansfield, MA. You’ll work alongside pediatricians and behavioral health providers who value nutrition support and want the RD involved in their patients’ care. You’ll also be part of Karuna’s close-knit team of dietitians, with colleagues to consult, opportunities to keep learning, and room to help shape your role as the partnership grows.

Karuna provides nutrition counseling and personal training through a non-diet, weight-inclusive, trauma-informed approach. We care about the whole person, the realities of family life, and helping clients build a more supportive relationship with food and their bodies.

The Role

  • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to children, adolescents, and families, including support with family feeding, selective eating, and eating disorders.
  • Directly collaborate with pediatric medical and behavioral health providers to coordinate care.
  • See clients in person in Mansfield on Mondays and Thursdays, from 2:00–6:00 p.m. This is the required starting schedule: eight (8) hours per week with a goal of five (5) client sessions/week.
  • If you’d like more hours, those days may expand to 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with a mix of in-person and telehealth appointments.
  • The position may grow into a full-time role based on your interests and the practice’s needs. An expanded caseload could include children and adults seeking support with a wider range of nutrition concerns.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least two years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, with active CDR registration in good standing.
  • At least one year of experience providing nutrition care to children and adolescents, including family feeding and selective eating.
  • At least one year of experience treating pediatric or adolescent eating disorders, including ARFID, with the ability to recognize medical risk and coordinate care with a treatment team.
  • Confidence working with parents and navigating family dynamics with compassion.
  • Strong nutrition counseling skills grounded in non-diet, weight-inclusive, trauma-informed care, with an understanding of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® principles.
  • A current Massachusetts dietitian license, or the ability to obtain one before starting.
  • Clear communication, timely documentation, and comfort working across online clinical platforms.

We’d be especially excited to hear about experience or interest in culinary education and food play; nutrition care for ADHD, autism, anxiety, or depression; or movement coaching. An individual NPI, existing credentialing with Massachusetts health plans, or additional state licenses are also welcome. You do not need to bring every one of these interests to the role.

What It’s Like to Work at Karuna

We’re a supportive, creative team that shares ideas, asks questions, and helps each other grow. You’ll have opportunities for one-on-one supervision, team collaboration, and paid training—not just a calendar of appointments to fill. We value clinicians who care deeply about their clients, enjoy working with colleagues, and want to help build thoughtful, accessible services.

Karuna welcomes team members and clients of all backgrounds, identities, and body sizes. We’re committed to compassionate, affirming care.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a W-2 employee position. Dietitians are paid a flat fee per eligible client session; compensation ranges $47–$67/session, depending on experience. Paid sessions include completed sessions, no-shows, and late cancellations. All meetings are paid separately.

At the starting schedule of eight working hours per week, estimated annual earnings are $13,600–$16,000, depending on experience and caseload. For a full-time caseload, estimated annual earnings are $68,000–$80,000, depending on experience and caseload.

Part-time employees receive a CEU stipend, professional liability insurance and 401(k) with matching, plus vacation time, sick time, and paid holidays prorated to their schedule. Full-time employees are also eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Karuna also provides one-to-one supervision, weekly team meetings, paid trainings, scheduling, billing and administrative support, and flexible scheduling where the role allows.
