What We Do: Dark Horse CPAs provides integrated tax, accounting, and CFO services to small businesses and individuals across the U.S. The firm was founded to save small businesses (and their owners) from subpar accounting and tax services and subpar client experiences. These small businesses are Dark Horses among their larger and more well-known competition. Being a Dark Horse CPA means advocating for small businesses by bringing them the tax strategies and accounting insights previously reserved for big business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support your Principal in client document organization, follow up and outreach.
• Highly proficient in QuickBooks and excel with an ability to learn new software and programs quickly.
• Manage the general ledger.
• Strong understanding of KPI’s with a track record of using them to make quick, informed decisions.
• Engages with the utmost integrity in handling all (client) company payroll.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, make timely requests, and follow up when needed.
• Fundamental understanding of Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable.
• Displays great mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Willing to adapt and work at a high level of intensity and fast pace to support the needs of a rapidly growing business.
• Displays an acute attention to detail in their oversight of both the accounting and client billing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in Bookkeeping, Controller or other accounting roles
• Proficiency in customizing chart of accounts, bank reconciliations, bill pay, payroll
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to adapt to new technologies
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
