INTRODUCING ARLA: Located on the top floor of 15 East Oak Street in the former Barneys New York Fred’s space, ARLA will explore seaside Mediterranean cuisine with refined Japanese influences in an elegant, transportive setting, reflecting the group’s signature design-forward approach. The menu, led by Chef/Partner Soo Ahn, is inspired by the layered flavors of the Mediterranean and refined Japanese techniques, anchored by fresh seafood, vibrant vegetarian dishes, live-fired hearth proteins, and curated sushi and raw bar selections.

Host:

 

Overview:

The host manages the front door and reservation operations, presenting an excellent first impression of the restaurant. The host must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to think and act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure in a fast-paced work environment.

           

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Greet and escort guests to tables, and answer phones for reservations and relevant queries.

·       Takes control over the flow of dining to maximize guest count, while spacing guests to allow the team to provide quality service. Manages tables throughout the shift.

·       Manage reservations, room seating, and service delivery with Hosts and Servers.

·       Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables. 

·       Establishes wait times for walk-ins and reservations

·       Possesses excellent knowledge of the restaurant operations (hours and days of operation, address, etc.)

·       Maintain excellent knowledge of table numbers and lead the management of the applicable reservation or table management system in use by the restaurant.

·       Maintain a clean and organized host station at all times, both before, during, and after your shift.

·       Interacts with guests in person and on the phone at all times to ensure a positive dining experience.

 

Position Requirements:

·       Available to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays

·       Proficient in Reservations Management

·       Must visually scan the restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables and determine wait time for guests.

·       100% -- Stands during the entire shift

·       75% -- Reaches, bends, and stoops frequently.

·       Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with guests in person and on the phone. 

·       Excellent English speaking skills
