Allied Development Land Acquisition Manager – Commercial/Multi-Family (CRE) Background Scottsdale, AZ · Full time Company website

We've built the machine. Now we need the closer who can drive it.

About Allied Development

The mission of Allied Development is to grow the legacy of land owners, communities and builders by developing land that allows families to flourish. Founded in Clackamas, Oregon, by real estate entrepreneur Cody Bjugan, Allied Development has grown into a nationally recognized company focusing in over 10 states covering 23 major markets and expanding. Now headquartered in Scottsdale, our company leverages talent, technology, and relationships to manage successful residential land development projects across the United States. With a rich history of more than 20 years, we have established a standard of excellence in the land entitlement services we provide to all our stakeholders—including landowners, partners, builders, and internal team members. Although the basic concept of land development may appear straightforward, it is our commitment to ensuring each unique property is developed to its best and highest potential that sets Allied Development apart.

Description

THE ROLE

Allied Development is not looking for a deal facilitator. We are looking for a land acquisition closer — someone who has sat across the table as a buyer, negotiated hard, and closed deals on behalf of their organization. If your career has been built primarily on representing sellers, this is not the role for you.

This is a principal-side position. You will be the driving force that moves qualified land opportunities from first contact to executed Purchase and Sale Agreement. You will own the relationship with the landowner, run the Offer Review Call (ORC), and refuse to let a deal die from indecision or poor follow-through.

You will initially work alongside our Founder, Cody Bjugan, and our Director of Business Development on ORCs — learning our deal structure, our landowner psychology, and our underwriting framework. The expectation is clear: you take full, independent ownership of these calls quickly. No hand-holding. No long ramp. You hit the ground running on Day 1.

The landowners we work with are making life-changing decisions. Deals stall not because the math breaks, but because decisions are hard. Your job is to move people from hesitation to commitment, with integrity, urgency, and the earned confidence that comes from having done this before. You know this dance because you've led it.

THE DNA OF THIS CLOSER

Non-Negotiable Experience

  • Proven track record as a buyer-side principal: you have personally negotiated and executed land or commercial real estate acquisitions on behalf of an organization, fund, or developer. Representing sellers is not a substitute.
  • 5+ years of direct acquisition experience in land development, multi-family, industrial, or commercial real estate sectors.
  • Deep familiarity with Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSA), Letters of Intent (LOI), entitlement timelines, and the full buyer-side due diligence process.
  • Experience managing complex deal pipelines across multiple markets simultaneously and the discipline to keep every opportunity moving forward.

Closer Mentality

  • You do not manage deals. You close them. There is a fundamental difference, and you know it.
  • You thrive in high-stakes, emotionally charged conversations where the seller is hesitant, uncertain, or stalling. You know how to apply professional pressure without burning the relationship.
  • You are a master at working through objections, not deflecting them. You find the real concern underneath the surface and solve for it.
  • You do not leave deals in limbo. Every conversation ends with a next step, a commitment, or a decision.

Relentless Follow-Up

  • You have a system. You do not rely on memory or a manager to tell you who to call. You own your pipeline like a business owner.
  • You understand that most deals are won in the follow-up and you have the discipline and tenacity to stay on an opportunity long after others have moved on.
  • You are not afraid to take a call after hours, adjust your schedule for a landowner's timeline, or be the one who shows up when the situation demands it.

Character and Coachability

  • High integrity. You build deals where both sides win. No exploitation, no shortcuts that damage trust.
  • Competitive and hungry. You adapt to feedback fast and have the self-awareness to improve.
  • Confident in uncertainty. You can make judgment calls with incomplete information and own the outcome.
  • Team-oriented. You are a closer, not a lone wolf. You communicate clearly, update leadership proactively, and make the team better.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in CRM platforms: you use them, not the other way around.
  • Comfortable with basic deal underwriting and agreement review.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • You close deals on qualified land that fits Allied's development criteria, consistently, without needing to be chased
  • You independently lead and close ORC’s within a defined period.
  • Your pipeline is always full, always organized, and always moving. No dead deals without a reason. No silent follow-up gaps.
  • You create win-win outcomes where landowners feel confident, informed, and respected.
  • You directly impact company profitability by securing projects that go on to successful entitlement and closing.

WHY ALLIED DEVELOPMENT

Allied Development is not a traditional real estate firm. We have built a high-tech, digital-first acquisition engine that disrupts the conventional land development model. Our mission is to grow the legacy of landowners, communities, and builders by developing land that allows families to flourish.

We are obsessed with alignment. When a project closes, every party involved wins: the landowner, the community, the builder, and Allied. That is not a talking point, it is how we structure every deal.

This is a culture built for the person who wants to be the best at what they do, work alongside a high-performance team, and build something that outlasts a single transaction. We don't just say that — in 2026, Inc. named Allied Development one of the Best Workplaces in America. If you are motivated by money, mastery, and mission, you will thrive here.
