Girls Empowerment Middle School Las Vegas (formerly Girls Athletic Leadership School Las Vegas)

Girls Empowerment Middle School (GEMS) Las Vegas is an all-girls Charter middle school serving grades 6th through 8th from our location adjacent to the UNLV campus in the heart of Las Vegas. We provide a SAFE–TUITION FREE environment for adolescent girls to receive a college preparatory education that is tailored to their needs.

At GEMS we empower girls to succeed academically, lead confidently, live boldly, and thrive physically.

Girls Empowerment Middle School is Nevada’s first all-girls public charter middle school, offering STEM education delivered in an environment designed to foster the next generation of leaders. Our girls learn self-respect and critical thinking in challenging courses delivered in classes small enough for teachers to know their students. There are many voices seeking to tell girls and young women what to think, at GEMS they learn how to think — and that integrity is not measured in likes on social media.

We offer a small, community-based, all-girls schooling option for families interested in STEM education and whole-child learning. GEMS is an independent, non-profit corporation with its own staff, budget, and governing board of directors drawn from across the community.
