The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington is to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens. Since 1956, the organization has been dedicated to safely serving youth in our local community. We provide out-of-school time opportunities to school-aged youth in Monroe and Owen Counties through camps and after-school programs. Our high-quality Club experience is formulated to have positive outcomes that develop essential skills related to Health & Well-Being, Character & Leadership, Academic Success, and Life & Workforce Readiness. America Needs Club Kids and Club Kids Need You. We wholeheartedly embrace a vibrant and clearly articulated culture that revolves around these core principles: We know our mission and shared vision of success. We take ownership of our work and empower others to do the same. We approach our work with a sense of unity. We recognize individual and Club successes, excellence, and milestone moments. We are teachable and coachable, and value feedback that helps us improve and grow. We address interpersonal conflicts with directness and professionalism. We demonstrate respect by assuming positive intent, utilizing active listening, and fostering a safe environment where seeking and offering help is encouraged. We show up each day with a dedication to safety and positivity. We will purposefully leave a legacy and pass the torch for generations to follow.
