Black Mamas Community Collective

Black Mamas ATX is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that Black women and birthing people in Central Texas survive and thrive before, during, and after childbirth. Founded in 2018 in response to the alarming maternal mortality rates facing Black families, the organization serves as a trusted anchor institution across Travis, Bastrop, Hays, Caldwell, and Williamson counties, providing culturally aligned, non-clinical care rooted in healing justice and lived experience. Our holistic service model addresses systemic health disparities through three primary pillars: no-cost, professional doula support; access to culturally congruent perinatal mental health services; and the WARMTH Project, which provides essential wraparound resources and financial assistance to address the non-medical drivers of health. By centering collective care and the radical empowerment of Black mothers, Black Mamas ATX is not only improving birth outcomes, but is also actively building a future where maternal health inequities are eliminated.
