The Installation (QC) Technician primary purpose is to perform daily inspections on fiber installs for both residential and business customers. These inspections should identify the root cause(s) of substandard work or incorrectly installed elements on projects in the field and help coordinate corrective actions. This role is vital to ensuring quality and longevity of our fiber network to provide high-speed internet access and value-added service to our customers.



  • Ability to conduct independent daily site inspections to monitor and document installations progress, including accurate and organized daily reports, photos, and quality control/safety standards and regulations
  • Ensure proper site operation; inspecting civil works to install conduit, installation of pre-terminated fiber drop cable and customer premise equipment. (ONT, Router and WIFI Extenders)
  • Perform accurate dimensional, physical and visual inspections of residential and commercial installations.
  • Ensure successful completion of activations, speed tests and WIFI mapping.
  • Monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality control/assurance and contract compliance for projects/jobs of routine to moderate complexity.
  • Must be able to perform the initial setup of high-speed fiber internet service as well as troubleshoot, should there be any issues in activating the service.
  • On-site support as necessary during major outages or sensitive network impacts to provide supervision and oversight of internal and external resources.
  • Understanding of NESC standards.
  • Adhere to the Company’s quality standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Using a courteous and professional approach to address customer questions and concerns.
  • Completing detailed activity log, and other reports/documentation.
  • Effective communication with homeowners and contractors to ensure installation satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all duties and responsibilities.
  • Available to travel within the assigned territory day-to-day (Greater Phoenix area)


  • High proficiency of fiber installation (underground and aerial), including splicing and testing specifications, and ability to read and understand permit/construction drawings and splicing diagrams.
  • Must be able to effectively use basic hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), and pliers (needle nose and channel locks), cable sheers, flush cutting pliers, pipe/duct cutter and rubber mallet.
  • Able to effectively read and interpret an XGS-PON Power meter and use a Visual Fault Locator (VFL).
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with fiber network and other digital infrastructure builds.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Hold or willing to obtain relevant OSHA certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understands Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years direct experience as Field Service Technician or related role within Telecommunications industry.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license required (clean MVR).
  • Willing to participate in background checks as well as drug-screen.
