We are looking for a Lead Fiber Technician (Installation & Quality Control) that understands the installation, maintenance and repair of fiber cabling and splicing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fiber infrastructure and oversee the installation process as well as provide quality control. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in the field, ensuring that our telecommunications infrastructure operates efficiently and effectively.
Description
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks and associated equipment.
- Perform network installation tasks, including cabling and low voltage work.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as an ohmmeter for testing and diagnostics.
- Conduct field service operations to ensure optimal performance of telecommunication systems.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, kneel, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to distinguish colors as required for the job and work outdoors most of the time
- Background check, MVR, and drug test required
