We are seeking an Design Engineer to design and plan outside plant (OSP) infrastructure, including aerial and underground fiber optic installations. The role involves overseeing construction and maintenance, ensuring projects are on time and within budget. The candidate will provide technical guidance, perform feasibility evaluations, risk analyses, and quality control checks. Collaboration with project teams and technicians is essential. Additionally, the candidate will troubleshoot cable and equipment issues, manage fiber splicing, and ensure network reliability. We need someone who can efficiently design, implement, and maintain our telecommunications infrastructure to meet our technical and operational needs.
Description
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Telecommunications Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in OSP engineering and construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and GIS systems for OSP design and planning. Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of applicable construction rules, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Project Management: Basic project management skills and experience with project management applications.
- Field Work: Ability to conduct site surveys and travel to construction sites as needed.
