The Campus Experience Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day physical and operational experience of Zion Church’s campus. This role ensures our facilities are clean, safe, organized, functional, and ministry-ready, creating environments where people can encounter Jesus. This role oversees facility care, preventative maintenance, vendors, campus organization, facilities requests, Sunday operations, event logistics, and facility projects. The Campus Experience Coordinator partners closely with the Community Life Pastor on the operational execution of the Sunday Experience. The Community Life Pastor leads the people, ministry, and volunteer teams of the Sunday Experience, while the Campus Experience Coordinator owns the physical environments, logistics, and operational readiness that support them. This role requires a proactive, dependable, hands-on, and service-minded leader who notices what others miss, takes ownership of problems, and follows things through to completion.

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Campus & Facility Experience

  • Own the day-to-day readiness, cleanliness, organization, safety, and presentation of Zion’s campus and facilities.
  • Conduct regular campus walkthroughs and proactively identify maintenance, safety, and facility needs.
  • Maintain recurring inspection and service schedules for key building systems, including HVAC, fire and life safety, emergency equipment, pest control, plumbing, backflow, and other applicable systems.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, repairs, maintenance, and facilities requests through completion.
  • Maintain facility supplies, equipment, inventory, storage areas, and operational documentation.
  • Support the physical facility needs of the Executive Suites at Talega in coordination with the appropriate administrative owner.
  • Maintain a campus environment that reflects excellence, hospitality, safety, and stewardship.


Sunday Experience & Guest Readiness


  • Own Sunday setup, campus readiness, room resets, and teardown for each service.
  • Ensure guest-facing environments are prepared and maintained, including entrances, parking, signage, check-in stations, hospitality areas, seating zones, and gathering spaces.
  • Coordinate Sunday volunteer logistics, including scheduling, onboarding, communication, assignments, and supplies.
  • Use Planning Center and other operational tools to coordinate Sunday schedules and operational needs.
  • Support guest follow-up and Next Steps by ensuring follow-up systems, communication workflows, materials, and operational processes are prepared and functioning effectively.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting during services and gather staff and volunteer feedback to continually improve the Sunday experience.


Events, Projects & Operational Systems


  • Coordinate facility and operational logistics for church-wide events, including setup, supplies, signage, campus readiness, and teardown.
  • Support construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects through on-site coordination, vendor communication, logistics, and follow-through.
  • Develop and maintain simple SOPs, checklists, campus standards, floor plans, and other operational resources.
  • Partner with ministry leaders to ensure their spaces and facility needs are prepared and supported.
  • Create systems that reduce operational friction for staff and volunteers.


Stewardship & Collaboration

  • Manage routine facility purchases within established spending authority and budget guidelines.
  • Partner with the Executive Pastor on facilities, maintenance, construction, vendors, and operational priorities.
  • Partner with the Community Life Pastor on Sunday Experience execution and operational support.
  • Communicate facility issues, project updates, and operational needs clearly and proactively.
  • Collaborate with staff, ministry leaders, vendors, contractors, and volunteers to ensure operational needs are addressed effectively.
  • Model a culture of excellence, ownership, teamwork, and Christ-like service.


WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE


Full-Time – 40 hours per week

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday

A typical week includes campus walkthroughs, preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, facilities requests, campus organization, Sunday preparation, volunteer scheduling and communication, event logistics, construction support, and operational follow-through.

Additional flexibility may be required during Easter, Christmas, VBS, conferences, construction milestones, and other major church events.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Growing personal relationship with Jesus and alignment with Zion Church’s Statement of Faith and theological distinctives.
  • Experience in facilities, operations, hospitality, event coordination, volunteer coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly to unexpected needs.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a facility and event environment.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Planning Center, and similar operational tools.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in church, nonprofit, hospitality, facilities, event, or operations environments.

• Experience managing church, commercial, or multi-use facilities.

• Basic maintenance, troubleshooting, or handyman experience.

• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, maintenance, or facility service providers.

• Experience supporting construction, renovation, or facility improvement projects.

• Experience coordinating volunteers, schedules, or weekend/event operations.

• Experience developing and maintaining operational systems, SOPs, or checklists.

Compensation: $20–25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
