Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Setting:
- Conduct client consultations to assess health needs, lifestyle, and wellness goals.
- Develop and recommend customized herbal remedies and wellness protocols based on each client’s unique needs.
- Provide education on the safe use of herbs and natural remedies, addressing any contraindications or interactions.
- Collaborate with other clinicians (e.g., therapists, dieticians) to integrate herbalism into a comprehensive wellness plan.
- Maintain confidential records of client assessments, consultations, and treatments.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up care for clients as needed.
Faith-Based Wellness Retreats:
- Facilitate herbal education workshops and wellness classes with a focus on mind, body and spirit.
- Integrate faith-based principles into wellness practices, helping clients align their physical healing with spiritual growth.
- Offer one-on-one herbal consultations during retreat settings to address specific health or wellness concerns.
Qualifications:
- Certification or diploma in Western Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, or a similar recognized herbal practice.
- 2+ years of experience in clinical herbalism or holistic health.
- Must have own malpractice/professional liability insurance
- Strong knowledge of herbal pharmacology, anatomy, and wellness protocols.
- Familiarity with SB-577 regulations and scope of practice for non-licensed practitioners in California.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Comfortable integrating care within a faith-based or spiritually sensitive environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Legal & Licensing Notes (California):
- As an independent contractor, you must comply with California's SB-577 and other state regulations regarding non-licensed complementary health practices.
- The role must avoid diagnosing medical conditions, treating specific illnesses, or claiming to cure medical conditions.
- You will practice within a complementary/alternative health framework, offering guidance and support through herbal remedies and holistic wellness.
