Ziggurat Interactive Inc Business Development Consultant - Video Games (Part-Time, Contract) Remote · Part time

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven team of part-time, contract Business Development Consultants to be responsible for creating business opportunities to maximize the lifetime value of our catalog of over 130 live titles and additional 500 catalog inventory titles for our business objectives. The successful candidates for this function should possess superior knowledge of revenue opportunities and deal creation, excellent communication & negotiation skills, and financial acumen for the projection, planning and delivery of commercial goals relating to leveraging the Ziggurat video game catalog.


General Responsibilities:

  • Identify new strategic partnership opportunities within the gaming & entertainment verticals.
  • Leveraging existing catalog intellectual properties through licensing opportunities.
  • Build and develop long term and quality relationships with game developers and publishers from PC and console gaming space as well as other key ecosystem players to build and source strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Develop commercial KPIs and metrics against initiatives.
  • Work with partner management, legal, finance, marketing, and planning to evaluate/develop, secure approval for, negotiate, and close partnerships with publishers and developers.
  • Drive relevant business modeling, forecasting, portfolio planning, and post-launch success validation efforts.
  • Structure, negotiate and close partnerships in order to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Guide all publishing partnerships and agreements through the contract execution process.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key partners at every level and horizontally within game development and publishing organizations.
  • Work with various divisions inside the company to gain support for key initiatives and deals.

Areas of Opportunity We're Looking to Partner With:

  • Business Development: Business development specialists are responsible for identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for their organization. They analyze market trends and competitor activities, develop and execute growth strategies, and manage relationships with partners and clients.

  • Licensing and Partnership: Licensing and partnership specialists focus on securing licensing deals and forging partnerships with other companies, such as game developers, publishers, technology providers, or merchandising partners. They negotiate agreements, manage relationships, and ensure that partnerships align with their organization's strategic objectives.

  • Channel Sales: Sales specialists in the gaming industry oversee the sales process for games or services, ensuring that revenue targets are met or exceeded through pricing, channel, discounting and marketing strategies.. They develop sales strategies, manage sales teams, and maintain relationships with key accounts and clients.

Engagement Type:

  • This is a part-time, contract position. It can be structured as either an hourly rate or a fixed rate (as listed). Leads would be managed independently through a lead tracking project management system and meeting weekly with Ziggurat partner to align on progress and execution.


  • Passionate and knowledgeable about all forms of interactive entertainment and experience in the gaming industry.
  • Thorough understanding of game developers, publishers, and their needs.
  • 5+ years of experience spanning business development and strategy in gaming and interactive entertainment, with an understanding for publishing, distribution, development, and technology deals.
  • Superb negotiation, analytical, communication and customer/partner relationship skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Cross-functional work experience within business development, finance, and marketing.
  • BA/BS (or equivalent) in business or technology required; MBA or MA a plus.
  • Additional language fluency is a plus.
