Accounting Manager

Location: Houston, TX – Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: VP of Finance

Salary Range:  $110,000 - $125,000

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. This critical role is responsible for the entire end-to-end accounting process—from entity-level bookkeeping review to complex global consolidations. You will be instrumental in ensuring full compliance with US GAAP and managing all tax-related filings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Management: Oversee and execute both standalone and consolidated closing processes (Monthly, Quarterly, Annual).
  • US GAAP Compliance: Ensure all financial statements and accounting treatments strictly adhere to US GAAP standards.
  • Tax Administration: Manage and execute the full suite of tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present high-quality monthly reporting packages for senior management.
  • Review & Quality Control: Conduct detailed reviews of bookkeeping and reconciliations performed by the team or outsourced partners.
  • Audit Readiness: Lead external audits for listed company requirements, ensuring all documentation is robust.


What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience, including tenure at a publicly listed company or a PCAOB-based audit experienced company.
  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in US GAAP, consolidation accounting, and tax filing processes, as well as FP&A.
  • Mindset: A "hands-on" leader who is comfortable diving into the details while managing the big picture.
  • Flexible Schedule: The ability to take meetings on JST-friendly time slots is also required.


Certifications

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.


Even Better

  • Experience in ERP implementation (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Experience in Treasury management (cash flow forecasting, banking, and liquidity management).
  • Tenure in the energy sector business, especially with an international company.
  • Fluent/Native English is required, and any level of Japanese is a plus.
