Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Engineering Technician to join our team. The Engineering Technician will play a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes on the shop floor. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding standards through auditing and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

● Work Instructions & SOP Development: Write and revise work instructions (with

approval from Toan) and assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures

(SOPs).

● Workstation Setup: Support the setup and optimization of workstations to

ensure efficiency and compliance with established standards.

● Process Auditing: Conduct daily audits of processes, work instructions, and

SOPs to maintain consistency and quality on the shop floor, with close

supervision required in the early stages.

● Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation

on the shop floor, ensuring the correct revisions are in use.

● Time & Method Studies: Perform time studies and method studies (after

standards are established), with training provided by Toan.


● Continuous Improvement: Assist in conducting Kaizen events or Plan-Do-

Check-Act (PDCA) cycles to drive process enhancements.

Qualifications

● Core Skills:

○ Primary focus on auditing processes and work instructions on the shop

floor, as well as conducting time studies.

○ Comfortable using computers and iPads for documentation and data

management.

○ Quick learner, able to adapt to new software and acquire new knowledge

efficiently.

● Experience:

○ Familiarity with manufacturing environments and standard work practices.

○ Ability to consider the perspective of end-users when developing

processes and instructions.


● Mindset:

○ Open-minded, eager to learn, and adaptable to changing priorities.

○ Willingness to spend significant time on the shop floor engaging with

processes and personnel.


Working Conditions

● This role requires the candidate to be on the shop floor consistently, working

closely with production teams and processes.

Supervision & Training

● The Engineering Technician will receive close supervision in the initial stages to

ensure adherence to standards, with ongoing training for

advanced tasks such as time and method studies.

Salary

$20 - $22 per hour
