Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for executing menu items with consistency, quality, and efficiency. This role is essential to maintaining the standard of excellence Vita Bella is known for, supporting both à la carte service and high-volume dining experiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to Vita Bella recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation throughout service
  • Execute dishes with consistency, speed, and attention to detail
  • Assist with prep work including sauces, pastas, proteins, and vegetables
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team and front-of-house staff
  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and minimizing waste
  • Support team during busy service periods and special events

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen (Italian cuisine preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Passion for hospitality and quality food
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in high-volume or fine dining environments
  • Familiarity with fresh pasta, sauces, and Italian cooking techniques
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
