Youth RISE Foundation (Resources • Inspiration • Service • Empowerment) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and young adults through leadership development, mentorship, education, workforce readiness, healthcare career exploration, civic engagement, and community impact initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Health Coach to mentor and guide aspiring healthcare professionals as they prepare for careers in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, physician assistant studies, and other health professions.

Overview

The Pre-Health Coach provides individualized coaching and mentorship to students pursuing healthcare careers on an as-needed basis. This role helps students develop competitive academic and professional profiles through guidance on prerequisite coursework, clinical experiences, research, leadership, standardized exams, and professional school applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one coaching to students pursuing healthcare careers.
• Develop individualized academic and career plans.
• Advise students on prerequisite coursework and academic success strategies.
• Guide students in obtaining clinical, research, volunteer, and leadership experiences.
• Assist with personal statements, resumes, CVs, and application materials.
• Support preparation for admissions exams such as the MCAT, DAT, GRE, or other professional school entrance exams.
• Conduct workshops and informational sessions on healthcare career pathways.
• Monitor student progress and provide ongoing mentorship.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and educational institutions to expand opportunities for students.
• Maintain accurate coaching records and program documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a healthcare profession, education, counseling, public health, or a related field preferred.
• Experience mentoring or advising pre-health students.
• Knowledge of healthcare professional school admissions processes.
• Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and build meaningful relationships with students.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual communication platforms.
