Youth RISE Foundation (Resources • Inspiration • Service • Empowerment) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and young adults through leadership development, mentorship, education, workforce readiness, healthcare career exploration, civic engagement, and community impact initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to help build and lead the Foundation's human resources function while supporting the growth of a mission-driven organization.

Overview

The Human Resources Manager oversees recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy development, compliance, performance management, and organizational development. During the Foundation's growth phase, this role begins with a flexible commitment of approximately 5–10 hours per week, allowing the selected candidate to help establish HR systems and processes. As the organization expands and sustainable funding is secured, this position is intended to transition into a full-time, salaried Human Resources Manager role with increased responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee resources.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Advise leadership on employee relations and performance management.
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate training, orientation, and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with organizational planning and HR strategy.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
  • Support additional human resources initiatives as the Foundation grows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in human resources, talent acquisition, employee relations, or organizational development.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or comparable certification is a plus.
