We are seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused Graduate Admissions Advisor to support aspiring graduate and professional school applicants as they prepare for the admissions process.

Overview

The Graduate Admissions Advisor provides individualized guidance to students pursuing master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs. Working on a per diem basis, this role helps students navigate graduate school admissions by providing coaching on program selection, application planning, personal statements, interviews, standardized exams, scholarships, and enrollment preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one advising to prospective graduate and professional school applicants.
  • Assist students with selecting graduate programs that align with their academic and career goals.
  • Develop personalized graduate school application timelines.
  • Review personal statements, statements of purpose, resumes, CVs, and other application materials.
  • Guide students through admissions requirements, prerequisite coursework, and standardized testing.
  • Educate students on funding opportunities, scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, and financial aid resources.
  • Conduct workshops on graduate school preparation and admissions strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide ongoing mentorship throughout the admissions process.
  • Collaborate with universities, faculty, alumni, and community partners to expand educational opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate advising records and program documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in graduate admissions, academic advising, higher education, counseling, or student services.
  • Knowledge of graduate and professional school admissions processes.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual communication platforms.
