We are looking for Part-Time Drawing Instructors for 2023-24 School Year!

Currently we are seeking teachers in the following communities:

- Winnebago County: Rockford, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Roscoe, Rockton

- Boone County: Belvidere and North Boone County

Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning after school drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imaginations while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.

Young Rembrandts - Rockford is seeking enthusiastic candidates who have experience working with groups of 10 or more children. Drawing experience is preferred, but confidence and passion for creating art are equally considered. Young Rembrandts - Rockford provides paid training in the Young Rembrandts methodology and teaching technique. We also provide all lessons, supplies, and materials.

Young Rembrandts - Rockford offers classes in public and private schools at the end of the regular school day, as well as in park districts and preschools. As a Young Rembrandts Instructor, you must be available to teach a minimum of 2 afternoons each week during the school year. Classes are 1 hour long, and you must be available for 30 mins before and after class (2 hours total, exact timing dependent upon school dismissal time). Instructors are assigned to one or more schools per week (based on schedule).

Job requirements:

- Age 18 years or older.

- High School diploma or equivalent (required). Some college preferred.

- Instruct and motivate students in the Young Rembrandts drawing curriculum.

- Availability between 1:30pm and 5:00pm at least 2 days per week (M-F).

- Requires lifting / moving up to 20 pounds (in transporting classroom supplies).

- Attend monthly in-person staff meetings (paid).

- Completion of I-9 to verify eligibility to work in the U.S.

- Any job offers will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

- Valid Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, and your own reliable transportation.

COVID-19 considerations: Young Rembrandts - Rockford will comply with any and all state, district, school, or community facility mitigation requirements, as applicable.

Please note that this is a VERY part-time position, approximately 3-8 hours per week, since only 1 after school class per day would be available.
