OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Filing Reviewer to support our team during the 2025 tax season. The ideal candidate will assist in the accurate review of individual, small business, and S-Corp tax filings. This is a part-time, 1099-contract role that requires expertise in tax preparation and compliance, strong communication skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (February 1 - April 30, 2025)

Location: Remote (Flexible, must be available during standard business hours)

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $40-$60 per hour based on experience

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review individual and small business tax filings (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S) for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, or missing information and provide recommendations for corrections.
• Collaborate with our internal team to ensure timely completion and submission of filings.
• Support with responding to client inquiries related to reviewed tax filings.
• Stay up to date with federal and state tax law changes relevant to the 2024 filing year.

CORE COMPETENCIES + QUALIFICATIONS 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and/or review
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, ProConnect, or similar)
• Familiarity with tax laws for individuals, small businesses, and S-Corps
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• CPA or EA designation preferred but not required
