Description

We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Associate Attorney to join our growing law firm specializing in Probate and Estate Planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Texas law and a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of estate planning, probate administration, and related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in probate matters, including independent administration, dependent administration, and probate litigation.
  • Advise and assist clients in creating comprehensive estate plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other related documents.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes to Texas Estates Code and related laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent client service and case management.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Manage case files, including maintaining accurate and organized documentation.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and client meetings as needed.
  • Oversee paralegals and legal assistants to prioritize tasks to minimize time-on-desk.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing.
  • 2–5 years of experience in probate, estate planning, or a related field (new attorneys with relevant internships or clerkships will also be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas Estates Code and estate planning principles.
  • Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in fiduciary litigation or handling contested probate cases.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., Clio).
  • Knowledge of tax considerations in estate planning.

Salary

$75,000 - $150,000 per year
