Build Supervisor (Touring)


XL Event Lab is in search of a skilled Build Supervisor on a contract with an immediate start. This is a touring role working away from home in an outdoor environment with travel and accommodation provided for the duration of the contract. 


Successful applicants will join a team of touring event professionals and support staff who are responsible for the successful delivery of ‘The Big Bounce America’ and ’ Bounce the City’, our family-friendly, immersive touring experiences. We are seeking a customer focused professional with management experience and a keen eye for detail.

We design and execute experiences for an expanding base of customers and oversee a portfolio of established events in various markets. Selling both to entertainment buyers and directly to the ticket buying public, XL Event Lab typically produces over 500 events in an average year.


The Role


As the Build Supervisor, you will assist in overseeing the positioning, construction and installation of the event’s various inflatable attractions each week before the event opens to the public. You will also be responsible for overseeing essential safety aspects of the event during trading days as well as the complete strike and pack-down at the end of each event. The build supervisor will report to the Build Manager (On-site). They will also work side-by-side with the Build Manager and assist in leading the Build Crew. The Build Supervisor plays a vital role in the planning, organization, and supervision necessary to put together an event while maintaining a high brand standard.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of crew and local labor in order to construct or assemble assets according to company specifications.
  • Instruct inexperienced team members concerning the Build & Break process.
  • Ensure crew completes tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist in the Build & Break of event production.
  • Load/unload trailers using heavy equipment & machinery.
  • Operate basic heavy equipment in the process of event construction.
  • Proactively address issues as they arise in order to complete assignments within deadline targets.
  • Work in poor weather, long hours, and fast-paced challenging conditions.
  • Serve as a positive representative of XL Event Lab



Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Must pass Background Check
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in events or construction industry.
  • Have experience operating heavy machinery, or be willing to learn.
  • Have experience with Generators and power, or be willing to learn.
  • Be comfortable travelling 100 days or more during the year.
  • Be prepared and comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Be physically capable of working long hours 10+ days consecutively.
  • Demonstrate full range of movement including but not limited to lifting, standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and crawling.\
  • Be comfortable with lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Be flexible in regards to working hours and locations.


Desired Experience / Skills / Certifications

  • Be comfortable communicating & leading a team with a well thought out plan in place.
  • Be willing to learn the processes set in place, whilst offering ideas for improvement.
  • Experience navigating and utilising email, google sheets, and project management platforms/applications.



Compensation Details

  • $1,400 / per week (Paid as Contractor / 1099) 
  • Travel and Hotel Accommodations included

$1,250 - $1,400 per week
