Job Description

Position: Cook / Breaker

                

Reports to: Director


Qualifications:

-At least 18 years of age

-Has a High School Diploma/GED or is currently enrolled in high school or GED program

-Have a current fingerprint clearance card

-Have a negative TB test within the past 12 months

-Have valid food handlers card


Roles and Responsibilities:

-Arrive and leave on time for scheduled shift as well as scheduled break times as this is essential to the children and other staff members

-Prepare snacks and meals per provided menus

-Keep kitchen and work area clean and sterilized

-Maintain kitchen in compliance with Cochise County health department

-Keep inventory current and communicate with Director when getting low on items

-Serve as a positive role model to staff, children and parents in professional appearance and demeanor (will follow World of Wonder dress code policy)

-Provide breaks for classroom teachers

-Adhere to and promote World of Wonder policies and procedures in childcare which promotes health, education and well-being to the children

-Use appropriate and positive behavior management techniques

-Take the role and responsibility for the upkeep and security of the kitchen materials

-Follow and model appropriate rules of the classroom behavior and procedures, while maintaining order

-Follow a classroom schedule

-Maintain a current and up to date roster according to ADHS requirements

-Attend all staff meetings and center trainings

-Maintain current CPR and First Aid requirements

-Know and follow all applicable state regulations

-Follow all mid-day and closing procedures

-Participate in company functions

-Meets or exceeds training hours required by state regulations

-Demonstrates flexibility regarding schedules and classroom assignments

-All other duties as assigned

 

Skills Required:

-Demonstrate a genuine liking and warmth for young children, in addition to understanding the needs of young children as well as the ability to relate to them

-Demonstrate patience and tolerance and can maintain an even keel over long hours and through noise, confusion and frustration

-Have knowledge of Cochise County health department requirements

-Have knowledge of proper food handling requirements

-Posses strong positive communication skills with children, parents, and staff

Salary

$15.15 - $15.5 per hour
