Start your career with Workplace Technologies! We’re looking for a motivated Entry Level Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. Whether you’re just starting your career or have up to two years of experience, we’re looking for dependable individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new skills. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians installing commercial access control, video surveillance, intrusion alarm, fire alarm, and structured cabling systems while building a rewarding career in the low voltage industry.


Job Duties

As an Entry Level Low Voltage Technician, you’ll assist with the installation, service, and support of a variety of commercial low voltage systems. Your responsibilities include:


  • Assist with the installation of access control, video surveillance, intrusion alarm, fire alarm, and structured cabling systems.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling.
  • Mount and install cameras, card readers, alarm devices, door hardware, and network equipment.
  • Learn to read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
  • Assist with equipment testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and service reports.
  • Keep company vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and organized.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and project managers.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.


Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years of commercial low voltage, construction, electrical, or related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders and lifts.
  • Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites throughout Central Indiana. While most work is performed locally, occasional overnight and limited out of state travel may be required to support customer projects, training, or company events.
