Job Description:
Workplace Rights Advocates is a litigation-focused plaintiff-side employment law firm representing employees in complex workplace disputes throughout California. We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to manage an active litigation docket from case filing through resolution, including discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
This position is designed for attorneys who want substantive litigation responsibility, meaningful courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work on high-impact employment matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, disability accommodation, whistleblower claims, and wrongful termination.
Responsibilities
- Manage a docket of employment litigation matters
- Draft and oppose motions, including motions for summary judgment
- Conduct written discovery and meet-and-confer efforts
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Appear at hearings, case management conferences, and depositions
- Communicate directly with clients regarding litigation strategy and case developments
- Work collaboratively with support staff and attorneys to move cases efficiently through litigation
- Assist with trial preparation, witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license
- Litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and litigation responsibilities
- Experience with employment law, civil litigation, or plaintiff-side practice preferred
- Comfortable handling discovery disputes and motion practice
- Trial preparation experience is a plus
