Description

Woolsey Morcom, PLLC is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our First Party Property (FPP) practice group, focused on our Texas caseload. This role is central to managing property insurance litigation matters from intake through resolution, working closely with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel.


This will be a hybrid position that must spend 3 days in an office in the North Dallas area. Full time remote is not an option.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a caseload of first-party property insurance litigation files in Texas, representing policyholders against their insurance carriers
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, demand letters, and settlement statements
  • Track case deadlines, court dates, and statutory timelines specific to Texas civil procedure
  • Communicate directly with clients (policyholders) regarding case status and settlement terms
  • Coordinate with adjusters, experts, and opposing (insurance company) counsel on scheduling and document exchange
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure documentation complies with firm SOPs
  • Assist attorneys with trial and mediation preparation as needed


Qualifications


  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in first-party property insurance or plaintiff-side litigation
  • Familiarity with Texas civil procedure and court filing systems (e-filing experience preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in client-facing situations
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; case management software experience a plus
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant degree preferred but not required with sufficient experience
