Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the overall grooming and care of pets, ensuring they look and feel their best. This role requires both technical skills in grooming as well as the ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, and styling of various breeds of dogs and other pets.
• Assess the health and condition of pets before grooming, identifying any potential issues that may require veterinary attention.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pet's needs and grooming preferences.
• Handle pets safely during the grooming process, using appropriate techniques to minimize stress for the animals.
• Keep detailed records of each pet's grooming history, preferences, and any special instructions from owners.
• Assist with additional tasks such as dog training or pet sitting when required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming and animal handling is preferred.
• Strong skills in dog handling, with an understanding of various breeds' temperaments and grooming needs.
• Knowledge of pet care practices including bathing techniques, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat care.
• Ability to lift heavy animals when necessary and manage multiple pets in a busy environment.
• Certification in dog training or experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
