WESST operates regional Women’s Business Centers and programs across the state, including Albuquerque, Farmington, Hobbs, and Las Cruces.

The Business Advisor provides high-quality, culturally competent advising and training to entrepreneurs and small business owners in New Mexico. This position supports clients at all stages of business development—start-up, growth, and expansion—with an emphasis on financial literacy, market readiness, and access to capital. 

The Advisor ensures inclusive and accessible services to a diverse population of clients, strengthens relationships with community and economic development partners, and supports WESST’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment across the state. Reports to the Farmington WBC Program Director. 

 

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. 

 

WESST is looking for a candidate who: 

• Is bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Dine) and able to deliver high-quality advising and training in both languages. 
• Has 3–5 years of experience providing small business advising, financial coaching, or entrepreneurship training. 
• Understands small business operations, marketing, accounting, and loan-readiness. 
• Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a statewide team. 
• Is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and digital learning tools.

• Is willing to travel within New Mexico and occasionally out of state.
