RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design and documentation of broadcast cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard systems under the direction of a Senior Designer or Consultant.
- Participate in client and operator meetings alongside senior team members, developing an understanding of client needs and building confidence in client-facing responsibilities.
- Assist with confirming camera locations, viewing angles, and camera platforms meet applicable league requirements. Support AC power coordination for TV trucks, broadcast booths, camera platforms, league racks, and common carriers under senior team review.
- Develop system architecture and design drawings for cabling infrastructure, camera systems, control rooms, national television, in-house video, radio, replay systems, and video networking based on direction from senior team members.
- Prepare LED and scoreboard layouts, including display sizing, viewing angles, and resolution, for senior review.
- Develop cable schedules, infrastructure calculations, and other design documentation while performing quality checks on assigned work before submission for review.
- Research products and technologies from multiple manufacturers and prepare comparisons to support project design decisions.
- Produce and revise construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents based on review comments and project requirements.
- Coordinate drawings and design documentation with electrical, structural, acoustical, and other disciplines as directed.
- Assist with tracking RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation, escalating questions or potential issues to senior team members.
- Participate in project site visits and assist with field documentation, including notes, photographs, and observations.
- Support on-site testing, commissioning, and system verification activities as assigned.
- Develop increasing independence in design, documentation, coordination, and technical decision-making as experience and technical judgment grow.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 1–3 years of experience in broadcast cabling, sports video production, LED/scoreboard systems, or a related field; relevant internships, academic projects, or coursework will be considered.
- Foundational understanding of video signal distribution, including SDI, IP video, and fiber, as well as the systems and infrastructure supporting broadcast production and control rooms.
- Basic understanding of LED display technologies, including pixel pitch, processing, resolution, and viewing considerations, with an interest in developing deeper technical expertise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with an interest in developing client-facing and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and incorporate feedback from senior team members.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate work across multiple areas of design.
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, media technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, coursework, internship, and practical experience preferred.
- Experience or academic exposure to sports facilities, live event production, broadcast systems, or multipurpose venue environments preferred.
- Familiarity with broadcast and video systems used for sports presentation, live event production, and multipurpose venue environments preferred.
- Interest in the integration of broadcast and video systems with scoreboards, LED displays, sound systems, and other event presentation technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with construction documentation practices, including specifications, drawings, RFIs, and submittals preferred.
- Exposure to BIM-based design coordination and multidisciplinary workflows preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam preferred.
- Familiarity with current video and broadcast networking technologies and protocols, such as SMPTE 2110, NDI, and IP video preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project and client needs.
