RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the technical direction of broadcast cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard scopes on assigned projects, from early programming through construction administration.
- Meet directly with clients, operators, architects, and stakeholders to define system requirements, performance targets, and operational priorities.
- Confirm camera angles and camera platforms meet league requirements, and coordinate AC power for TV trucks, broadcast booths, camera platforms, league racks, and common carriers.
- Develop system architectures covering cabling infrastructure, camera systems, production control rooms, national TV, in-house video, radio, and replay systems, video networking, and LED/scoreboard sizing and control.
- Evaluate camera, LED, and cabling products across manufacturers and recommend the right fit for each project's requirements and budget.
- Produce and check construction drawings, specifications, schedules, floor plans, and signal-flow diagrams, and coordinate them with architecture, structure, electrical, and other teams.
- Lead design reviews and coordination workshops; review contractor submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests.
- Conduct site visits during construction to resolve installation and coordination issues as they come up.
- Run testing, verification, and commissioning for broadcast, video, and LED/scoreboard systems.
- Direct junior staff on their piece of a project and take ownership of limited-scope engagements, including the client relationship.
- Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, and business development for broadcast work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 5+ years of experience in broadcast cabling, sports video production, LED/scoreboard systems, or a closely related field.
- Experience working in stadiums, arenas, educational facilities, or other large-format sports and entertainment venues.
- Solid understanding of video signal distribution, including SDI, IP video, and fiber, as well as production control room layouts and cable plant design.
- Working knowledge of LED display fundamentals, including pixel pitch, processing, and Familiarity with CSI documentation standards and architectural project phases.
- Understanding of project sequencing, including design, bidding, contractor coordination, construction administration, and commissioning.
- Proficiency with Revit, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with current video and broadcast networking protocols, including SMPTE 2110, NDI, and IP video.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and client-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage project-related tasks, coordinate with project stakeholders, and travel as project needs require.
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, media technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Procore preferred.
- Experience with BIM-based design coordination workflows preferred.
- Experience working on professional or major collegiate sports facilities preferred.
- Experience with broadcast systems supporting sports presentation, live event production, and multipurpose venue configurations preferred.
- Experience coordinating broadcast and video systems with scoreboards, video displays, sound systems, and event presentation technologies preferred.
