RESPONSIBILITIES
Discipline Leadership
- Own the Broadcast Systems discipline end to end (broadcast cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard) as the person ultimately accountable for standards and project delivery.
- Staff projects by assigning the right people from across the three specialty groups.
- Set the standards, methodology, and training the discipline works from, and keep them Set discipline-wide standards for confirming league requirements, including camera angles and platforms, and for coordinating AC power for TV trucks, broadcast booths, camera platforms, league racks, and common carriers.
- Handle hiring needs and day-to-day operations for the broadcast team.
- Sign off as the final word on broadcast work product before it goes out the door.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff across the discipline, from Designer up through Senior Consultant.
- Keep leadership informed on how the discipline is performing: utilization, quality, growth.
Project & Client Responsibilities
- Take the lead on the firm's most complex broadcast projects, across cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard alike.
- Be the face of PMY's broadcast systems practice with clients, architects, and outside parties at a senior level.
- Act as Project Executive when assigned.
- Run client meetings, design reviews, and coordination workshops on the toughest jobs.
- Give final sign-off on system architecture across cabling, camera systems, control rooms, national TV, in-house video, radio, and replay systems, video networking, and LED/scoreboard design.
- Review and approve the drawings, specs, and bid documents the broadcast team produces.
- Make the final call on submittals, RFIs, and value-engineering proposals that touch broadcast scope.
- Get involved in commissioning and site issues when something needs a senior set of eyes.
- Drive business development for the discipline: proposals, pursuits, fee strategy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 12+ years of experience across broadcast cabling, sports video production, and LED/scoreboard design, with demonstrated breadth and technical depth across all three Proven experience leading and developing technical teams, with the ability to provide direction, mentorship, and technical oversight.
- Strong understanding of broadcast cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard systems sufficient to serve as the final technical reviewer for project work.
- Thorough knowledge of CSI documentation standards and the architectural project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and contractor/integrator coordination, with the ability to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact a project.
- Proficiency with Revit, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with current video and broadcast networking protocols, including SMPTE 2110, NDI, and IP video.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and client-management skills, with demonstrated ability to represent the firm at a senior level.
- Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and lead a technical team simultaneously, with willingness and ability to travel as project and discipline needs require.
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, media technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Procore preferred.
- Experience with BIM-based design coordination workflows preferred.
- Experience working on professional or major collegiate sports facilities preferred.
- Experience designing and delivering broadcast systems for sports presentation, concerts, touring productions, ceremonies, and multipurpose venue configurations preferred.
- Experience coordinating broadcast and video systems with scoreboards, video displays, sound systems, and event presentation technologies preferred.
- Prior experience building, developing, or scaling a technical practice or discipline within a design or consulting firm preferred.
