Description

Transportation Clerk - responsible for the administrative coordination of shipping, receiving, and fleet movement. For this specific position, you must be proficient in MacroPoint for real-time freight tracking and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.



Core Responsibilities

  • Freight Tracking & Monitoring: Utilize MacroPoint to maintain visibility of all loads, providing real-time updates to customers and internal stakeholders on shipment progress.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Use Excel to run daily operational reports, track transportation metrics, and maintain master spreadsheets for fuel usage or vehicle service costs.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Gather and process driver paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOL), manifests, and vehicle inspection reports, ensuring all documentation meets Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
  • Driver & Carrier Coordination: Communicate with drivers and carriers to resolve delays, manage scheduling, and handle delivery associate issues as they arise.
  • Billing & Invoicing: Verify the accuracy of freight invoices, prepare billing statements, and assist in monthly reconciliations.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Software Proficiency:
  • MacroPoint: Expert knowledge of this tracking software is mandatory for automated freight visibility.
  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills are required for data entry, recording database updates, and generating reports.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for constant interaction with drivers, customers, and vendors.
  • Detail Orientation: High accuracy is critical for managing logs, manifests, and regulatory compliance files.
  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED; prior experience in logistics or transportation is preferred


Salary

$17 - $18 per hour
