Forklift Driver/ Material Handler

Job Type: FT

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Laredo, TX

Schedule: Different Shifts / Must be able to Work OT

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Must comply with safety procedures and regulations at all times.
  • First point of contact in the yard - directs customers and deliveries.
  • Keeps track of ticketed materials, properly identifies vehicles and person, and attains required legal documentation of customers.
  • Assesses weigh materials inbound and outbound into process area.
  • Accurate identification of material to assign correct value.
  • Provide customer service, ensures customers specs and contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Assesses by grade accurate weight of material orders for loading.
  • Identify the proper carrier to pick up correct materials/container.
  • Loads and unloads material to/from trailer properly meeting safety standards.
  • Ensure safety procedures are met and forklift is properly maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization.

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Forklift experience and certification desired, additional on-site training will be provided
  • 2 years’ experience in either operations and or manufacturing environment
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements:

·      Must be able  to lift up to 50 pounds

·      Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time

·      Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment.

 

 

 

Software:

Scanner preferred but not required

Language:

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Salary

$13 - $17 per hour
