Description

Winning Strategy Group seeks a full-time Direct Response Strategist to work closely with leadership and the strategy team to manage and execute all aspects of direct response fundraising for our clients, with an emphasis on growing and integrating digital and direct mail programs.


The Strategist will integrate fundraising best practices with cutting-edge technology, data analysis, and creative testing to achieve aggressive fundraising goals across channels, including email, SMS, web, and direct mail. This role is responsible for maximizing revenue, donor growth, retention, and lifetime value for our clients.


The Strategist must be passionate about center-right, conservative and Republican causes and must be inspired to do the best for our clients.


Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide effective leadership in direct response with our clients and their programs, by being actively involved in strategy, execution, and performance across all direct response programs.
  • Develop and execute an integrated direct response strategy for all assigned clients across digital and direct mail, aligned with organizational goals and campaigns.
  • Partner closely with leadership to set revenue targets, budgets, and growth strategies.

Direct Mail Program Oversight

  • Own and oversee client direct mail programs, including housefile mailings, acquisition, renewals, upgrades, and reactivation efforts.
  • Manage relationships with external direct mail vendors, including list brokers, co-ops, printers, mail houses, copywriters, and data partners.
  • Collaborate with copywriters and designers to develop compelling, mission-driven direct mail packages and test creative, offers, formats, and timing.
  • Oversee mail planning, segmentation, testing, circulation strategy, and ROI analysis to maximize net revenue and donor lifetime value.
  • Ensure strong integration between direct mail and digital efforts, including coordinated messaging, multichannel follow-up, and attribution.


Vendor, Data, and Performance Management

  • Manage and oversee key digital and direct response vendors and contractors, ultimately owning their metrics, deliverables, and performance.
  • Ensure ongoing analysis, reporting, and data management across all direct response channels.
  • Use data to inform testing, optimization, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience in direct mail fundraising.
  • Nonprofit experience is preferred.
  • Strong personal, organizational, program, and time management skills, keen attention to detail, research and writing skills, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Is a strong, energetic, empathetic individual of high integrity.
  • Is both goal and detail-oriented, with an entrepreneurial and innovative drive and spirit.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite applications; has the ability to quickly learn new CRM’s.

Salary and benefits package will be aligned with experience, however, the general range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 per year. Subject to change for the right candidate.
