Department: Marketing
Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer
Location: Austin, TX
About the Role
The VP of Marketing leads WIN’s marketing team and owns growth: every paid channel and the full funnel, from first click to renewal. WIN sells Blast, SwingAI, TrainVR, SmartPark, and the WIN System to players and parents, and to coaches and programs that make up roughly 30% of revenue. This role makes sure every dollar we spend brings in customers who stay.
We’re rebuilding marketing around proof, product, and a brand people remember. Paid media still matters, but it now works alongside a brand campaign, pro ambassadors, and real player stories. You’ll lead the team that does it — growth, product marketing, content and storytelling, and brand partnerships — and run paid media, lifecycle, web development, and measurement through agency and contract partners.
Success is measured by efficient acquisition, strong trial-to-paid conversion, customers who renew and grow, and a team that delivers the strategy. This is a role for a growth leader who owns retention as seriously as acquisition and can lead creative and commercial roles alike.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of four: Growth Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Head of Content & Storytelling, and Brand Marketing Manager.
- Turn the CMO’s brand strategy and annual campaign into team plans, priorities, and a season-long calendar.
- Hire well, set clear goals, and hold the team to a high bar for quality and results.
- Keep growth, product marketing, content, and partnerships working as one team around proof.
Paid Media
- Own every paid channel — Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Trybe, and our own storefronts — run through agency partners.
- Set CAC targets by product and audience, and manage budget across channels and the season.
- Plan the heaviest spend around holiday gifting and the campaign tentpoles: spring training, Opening Day, and the postseason.
Full-Funnel Growth
- Own the funnel from awareness through retention: site diagnostic, symptom search, retargeting, conversion, renewals, and upgrades.
- Partner with the Growth Product Manager on the website, storefronts, diagnostic, and conversion testing roadmap.
- Direct lifecycle marketing — email, SMS, and in-app moments — to drive renewals, upgrades, and roster graduation.
- Generate B2B leads for coaches and programs, including SmartPark lead flow, in partnership with sales.
Measurement
- Own measurement across paid and brand: CAC, trial to paid, renewal rate, and net revenue retention.
- Design holdout tests by region or audience to measure brand and TV lift.
- Report monthly on spend, CAC, and volume, so leadership sees trade-offs as the paid-to-brand shift happens.
Partner Management
- Select, brief, and hold agency and contract partners to written deliverables and scorecards.
- Review partner performance regularly and make renew-or-replace calls with the CMO.
Team & Structure
- Four direct reports: Growth Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Head of Content & Storytelling, and Brand Marketing Manager.
- Indirect: Social & Community Manager, through the Head of Content & Storytelling.
- Extended team: contract partners for paid media, lifecycle (email and SMS), web development, and measurement, managed directly by this role.
- Close partners: CMO, Senior Brand Designer, Product, and the sales team.
- This is a hands-on role. You’ll be in the ad accounts and the dashboards, not just the reviews.
Who You Are
- You own the whole funnel. You’ve been accountable for retention and upgrades, not just the first purchase, and you think in lifetime value.
- You lead a mixed team. You’ve managed marketers across growth, product marketing, and creative, and you know how to get the best from each.
- You run growth through partners. You know how to get great work out of agencies and contractors, and how to hold them to a scorecard.
- You’re fluent in the numbers. You can build the model, read the test, and explain what changed and why.
- You believe brand and performance work together. You know proof and brand make paid media work harder, and you can measure it.
- You build for leverage. If a report takes you an hour every week, you automate it.
- You tell the truth. You surface a rising CAC or a failing test early, with a plan.
How Success Is Measured
- Primary KPI: New subscribers and revenue at or below target CAC.
- Conversion: Trial-to-paid rate across products.
- Retention: Renewal rate and net revenue retention.
- B2B: Qualified leads delivered to sales for coaches and programs.
- Partners: Agency scorecards and results against written deliverables.
- Team: Delivery of team goals, hiring against plan, and retention.
Qualifications
Required

- Has managed $1M+ in annual paid media across multiple platforms.
- Has owned retention and upgrade metrics, not just acquisition.

- Strong grasp of measurement: attribution, incrementality and holdout testing, and cohort analysis.
Preferred
- Experience in sports, fitness, or youth sports.
- Experience growing both consumer and B2B revenue.
- Experience with Amazon, TikTok Shop, or marketplace channels.
- Experience with hardware-plus-subscription products.
